16-Hour Short-Haul Exception

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The 16-Hour Short-Haul Exception is an FMCSA rule that allows certain qualifying drivers to extend their on-duty time from 14 hours to 16 hours once every 7 consecutive days.

This exception is typically used by short-haul drivers who return to the same reporting location and meet specific conditions under the Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.

At this time, the 16-Hour Short-Haul Exception is not yet available in GPSTab.

Our IT and development teams are aware of this request, and the feature is currently under review for future updates.

There is no estimated release date (ETA) yet, but we plan to make it available in a future version of the system.

If your operation relies on this exception, please continue to follow standard 14-hour HOS rules for now.

We’ll update all customers as soon as the 16-Hour Short-Haul feature becomes available in the GPSTab platform.
