Driver Log Management for Fleet Administrators

Learn how to monitor and review driver logs in GPSTab to stay compliant and keep fleet records accurate.

Updated today

The Logs section in your GPSTab Dashboard allows you to easily access and monitor your drivers’ ELD records in one place. At the top of the page, you can set a date range to review logs for a specific period, then quickly refine results using filters such as Driver IDs, Truck IDs, Groups, Drivers, Statuses, Log types, and DVIRs.

Each row in the table represents a driver’s daily log summary, showing key details like the date, driver name and ID, assigned truck ID, distance, time remaining until break, and available driving limits including Driving, Shift, and Cycle hours.

You can also track WH today (worked hours today) and see the driver’s current status at a glance.

To help with compliance, the Errors & Violations column highlights any issues that require attention (for example, missing Driver Signature), while the DVIR column shows whether the vehicle inspection report is completed or still pending.

When you need a copy of the Daily logs for audits or reporting, select the needed days by checking the checkboxes on the left and click Reports to generate and download the selected logs.

Admins can review logs to ensure accuracy, check for missing signatures, incomplete DVIRs, or possible HOS violations.

Under the Driving Events tab, you can review all recorded driving events and filter them by the drivers.

Select 'All Drivers' to view all the events, or narrow the list by choosing a specific driver.

If the event was not automatically recorded to the driver’s logs ( for example, the driver’s tablet was off, but the ELD was connected to the truck). In that case, it appears as an Unidentified Driving Event (UDE).

You can filter UDEs by status to manage them quickly: Unidentified – Unassigned shows events that still need a driver assigned, Unidentified – Assigned shows events that have a driver assigned but aren’t confirmed by the driver yet, and Unidentified – Accepted shows events where the driver has already confirmed the event.

This makes it easy to find unassigned drivers’ events and assign each event to the correct person when needed.

For better oversight, email notifications for HOS violations or FMCSA data transfers can be enabled in the Settings tab.

Regularly checking driver logs helps your company maintain accuracy, accountability, and compliance across the fleet.
