Geofencing & Map Tracking for Fleet Administrators

Updated today

The Map & Tracking section in GPSTab gives you real-time visibility into your fleet’s movement and driver locations.

To view a driver on the All Units map, make sure the checkboxes near the drivers’ names are checked, and they’re logged into the app with a stable internet connection.

The Date & Time column shows the last update, and hovering over it displays their Online/Offline status.

GPSTab displays locations in FMCSA-compliant format - showing the distance and direction from the nearest city or town with a population of 5,000 or more (for example, “3.9 mi N of Duncanville, TX”). This format is required by federal ELD regulations, so it may not show the vehicle’s exact street address, but it ensures compliance and consistent recordkeeping.

For precise location details, click the small location icon under the map to fetch the full address or copy exact coordinates.

You can share a driver’s real-time location by selecting the driver and clicking Share, then entering the recipient’s email and choosing how long you want to share it for (time range).

To create a Geofence Notification, click Geofence, set the address or coordinates of any needed location, choose a radius, and add the recipient email. They’ll receive an email when the vehicle enters the defined area.

You can create multiple geofences per truck and deactivate or update them at any time.

While GPSTab doesn’t display an exact ETA, you can use geofences as an arrival alert when a vehicle reaches or nears a destination.

To review trip history, open All Units → Choose Driver and click on the calendar icon to select a date range, then click Apply to see route lines and stop points.

These tools make it easy to monitor fleet activity, verify arrivals, and keep customers informed in real time.
