All the GPSTab’s Asset Trackers include a built-in SIM card and GPS unit for discreet, accurate tracking.

How to Activate a Tracker

Each tracker has a unique ID number printed on its sticker or packaging.

To activate, email the following details to GPSTab Support at [email protected]

  • Tracker ID

  • Tracker name (to be displayed in your system)

  • Assigned vehicle ID

  • Company DOT number

How Often the Tracker Reports

The tracker automatically sends location updates based on movement and power status:

  • Vehicle moving, lights on (charging): reports every 10 minutes

  • Vehicle moving, lights off (not charging): reports every 20 minutes

  • Vehicle stationary, trailer connected: reports every 6 hours

  • Trailer disconnected (battery mode): reports every 24–48 hours, depending on charge level

Charging the Tracker Battery:

  • The tracker charges while the vehicle is in motion with the lights on.

  • If the lights are off, it charges only when the stop signal is on.

  • When disconnected from the truck, it runs on battery backup for up to 60 days.

  • A full charge takes about 3 hours of driving with the lights on.

GPSTab’s Asset Trackers help fleets prevent theft, reduce costly losses, and improve visibility across all operations - giving you peace of mind and control over your assets.
